Holly Weeks - Lead

Hello My Name Is...

Holly Weeks

Hello, my name is Holly Weeks, and this will be my 24th year of teaching first grade at South Douglas Elementary.  I have been blessed to teach at the BEST school for my entire teaching career!  Teaching is not just my job; it’s my hobby and my calling! I can’t imagine being so fulfilled in any other profession.

I
graduated from McEachern High School in 1994, and received my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Kennesaw State University.  In 2009, I graduated with my Masters in K-12 Technology from Nova Southeastern University, and then with my Educational Specialist Degree in Brain-Based Teaching in 2011.  Every piece of my educational path has helped mold the person and the teacher I am today. I learned from some of the very best educators, and I constantly try to put into action the skills that they taught me.

My family and I live in Hiram.  I have three beautiful and energetic kiddos:  Beau (14--9th grade @ AHS), Brooklyn (16--11th grade @ AHS), and Brittan (18--Freshman @ WGU).  Our wild and crazy kitty, Cheezit, was adopted straight off the SDES playground almost six years ago.  Things are usually pretty busy at our house, but I love every minute of it!  In my spare time,
I love to read, cook, get outside, travel, and think up new ideas for home and for school!

I'm proud to be a Bear Cub!
