Kellie Chaves

I am so excited to be teaching kindergarten here at South Douglas. This is my third year at SDES and my 20th year teaching. I absolutely love teaching my KINDERS that learning can be FUN! I was born and raised in Douglas County. I graduated from Alexander High School and The University of West Georgia in 1998 with a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, and I am currently working on my master's in Mathematics. My husband and I have three wonderful teenagers, Gracie-19, Daniel-17 and Brady-16. I enjoy reading, watching movies, and watching my boys play soccer! The beach is one of my favorite places.

I hope to instill in my students a love for learning, and I hope they leave my class knowing that they have an adult that will always care for them. :)
